I’m happy to announce my next trip: Croatia in June-July. First time over there! I plan to bring my big camera (Nikon D750); I’m not just ready to leave it behind yet. I would be frustrated if I missed photo opportunities because I had “only” the iPhone.

Zavala, an outliner for the Mac, iPad and iPhone, recently got a series of updates after a year of silence. I’m happy to see this app is still alive and well.

Frankly, I had to read these instructions many times but couldn’t figure it out. The Kagi Safari Extension 2.0 looks like a major change in design and how it works. They had to revert back because too many users reported issues. I understand Apple’s guidelines and privacy protection might be the root cause for this less-than-user-friendly setup.

Finally cancelled my Adobe photography subscription plan. Next to cancel: CleanShot Cloud. Just updated my subscriptions page.

Each year, at about the same period, I always feel a return of my desire for photography. It is as if photography is always the thing I drop first when I’m busy in life, preferring to keep the rest (writing, blogging). I hope this will change a bit in 2024.

If I post a photo on Pixelfed that is marked as an NSFW image ¹, the image is still cross-posted on Micro.blog without any restriction. Can Micro.blog distinguish the post on Pixelfed and do something different based on that? cc @manton

I’m so much closer than I thought to being able to close my Adobe creative cloud subscription. I love the holidays for the time it provides to do special projects like this.

The process is far easier than I thought but it takes a little while to move files around. I could complete it before my next scheduled payment on January 8th. That is one of my 2024 goals!
